Meet Maxine

Hello, I am Maxine Erickson. I moved to Dundalk from the faraway town of Essex - Ha! I was 12 so Dundalk is my home, and I am proud to be able to serve the community I grew up in, raised my children in, and volunteered in.

Having been married for 27+ years, the mom of 3 young men, and now a Nonna to 1 amazing little boy. I know exactly how important it is to feel heard, seen, and beautiful in a relaxing and quiet atmosphere. I designed my treatment room experience to leave you feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and more confident.

While I am a licensed cosmetologist, hair didn't bring me joy, but I LOVED the beauty industry and couldn't just leave. That's when I decided to dive deep into esthetics/skin care and, eventually, massage therapy. Over 30 years later, I am still wildly in love with my craft. I am fortunate, and while I don't practice massage therapy anymore, my facials and back facials are one of the most relaxing, if I say so myself. 

Once the downtown Baltimore salon closed permanently due to prolonged Covid-19 closure, I wondered, "where will I go? What will I do next?" A few years ago, I was a Blackjack and Roulette Dealer at MD Live!. It was fun but not fulfilling. I found it quite draining. I knew I did not want to go back there. No doors of opportunity were opening in a place that felt  "right". I then decided to build my own door and open Erickson Esthetics. Now I choose exactly what services and products to offer and retail that will make a positive difference in how you feel about your skin. I offer corrective and relaxation facials, head-to-toe hair removal, and natural brow shaping. I am most proud of the fact I can calm even the antsiest people. 

When I am not in the treatment room, you will likely find me chilling at home with my husband and our kitty Mardi Gras, "Mardi" for short, gardening, or hanging out with our kids or my grandson. Ahhh... the love for a grandchild really does make the world a better place - he is my heart. If you happen to see me driving around town, do not be alarmed; my inner Diva is coming out, singing and dancing to the music. You're welcome for the free show - Ha! Seriously though, admit it, you have an inner diva too. If you let me, I can help your skin have that diva status glow. I know the tips, tricks, and secrets.

My love of music is definitely in my DNA. My father and his family were all musicians. He and his brother even owned a well-known nightclub until the late 80s. When I was little, I would go listen to the bands rehearse and have the dance floor to myself. Later, when I was a teenager and not "of age," Dad would let me hide and watch one of my favorite bands - Kix. Today as an adult, there is still a good chance you will run into me at one of their shows. Can you believe they are still around?! I play relaxing instrumental music inside the treatment room, but if that is not your thing, let me know! It's your experience, so I'll let you choose the music we listen to.
